Zach,
Thank you.
Where are you getting this information?
I'm still collecting manuals and magazines, etc. and haven't come across that.
I did note that the bias tires on my car are tubeless, and the valve stems appear to be for tubeless rims.

The 48-54 parts manual shows the wider rims for the Hollywoods and convertibles. I wouldn't put the larger size on the standard rims.
The Parts Catalog and the Dealer Options Folder. I'm lucky to have the Club Library close to me where I can go and flip through the file cabinets at my leisure. John O'Halloran made me his Deputy Librarian! Alex Burr has done an amazing thing and taken the time to put a lot of these materials online. The 1952 Parts Catalog is, and that references the tires and wheels. Tubeless tires appeared on Hudsons in 1952, but even if they didn't, I wouldn't make a distinction between having tube tires or tubeless.
For Stepdowns -
Rims for Hollywoods and convertibles should be 15" X 5 1/2";
Others should be 15" X 5";
Note:The 15" X 5 1/2" rims are quite a bit harder to find... Just ask Russell - LOL!
That's right! So if you can find the wider wheels, grab them up 'cause they're valuable!
And Lee, thanks for your story up there ^ Very nice!
You are welcome Zach
While working on the Hornet today I took a look at the radial sidewall for a brand name. Surprise, no name. I looked at back side of tire, still no brand name of any kind. Could be cheep low quality radials. Next, I will check out the rating codes. They are 225 - 75 a little large for 5" wheels. Makes for a snug tire removal on rear.
