Thanks to all those who helped me in my search; I found the car that made me smile!

I bought a 1952 Hollywood Twin H

I'm sure I paid too much, and it needs a little work (hopefully not to turn into a lot of work...) but I love it, and it sure is fun, and the boys have plenty of room! :cheer:

Rob

A lovely looking car indeed Rob. Paid too much? Well if you paid what you thought it was worth then it can never be too much of course 🙂

Here's hoping that you and the family have many happy hours motoring!

Paul, hours are okay, but I'm planning on years! 😉

Rob,

Congratulations. Your extensive search is an excellent model for anyone who is seriously interested in finding a Hudson that he or she will be happy to own!

Absolutely beautiful. Look at it this way - if you paid pretty much what you were planning on you couldn't restore it for that amount. From the pictures she looks ready to strut her stuff at the Colorado National. Happy Hudsoning.

Thanks,

That's pretty much how I looked at it.

I took the advice of "buy as much car a you can afford, and find the money for the repairs later".
Everything I looked at that was "affordable" needed something, or several somethings to make it come close to this one.
Buying one of the less expensive cars would simply have had me spending the money later.

However, as we all know, there is no such thing as a car that needs nothing...at least in my price range 😉
So with luck, the minor things it needs won't become major.

I'm looking forward to the Colorado trip!

Rob

Congratulations, Rob! All of your research and searching, have paid off in a fine looking car. I'm sure you are about to embark on a multi-year adventure that, some day, will become Family Lore and which your sons will happily relate to their grandsons!

Thanks Jon!

Yes, I hope so...though we don't sit around waiting for adventures to fall in our lap...I make them happen! 😉

Though the boys are with us most of the time, and are like sons to me, they are actually my grandsons.
Thanks though, I feel younger! 🙂

Rob

Rob,

Congratulations! That is a gorgeous car. I loved reading your story on finding the car you wanted. It took me two years to find the year and model I wanted, a 1935 two door sedan Terraplane with a sloped back. . I also paid more than what it was worth (to other people) but I love the fact that my grandkids want to ride in grandpa's old, old, car to get ice cream. You really cannot put a price tag on that.

I wish you many years and fond memories with your grandkids in your very cool ride.

Mike

P.S. Take your grandkids out to get some ice cream !!!!!!!

Hey! That's Bob Novack's car! I want my head back! Haha I don't think he actually put it on the car, it's probably in his garage somewhere, but you just reminded me that I have to get that from him!

Very nice! I hope you restore it! The Hollywood Wasps are somewhat of a rarity and very special!
