I have spent the last two weeks trying to get the clutch loose in my '50 C6 . I've done the acetone/kerosene mix- the acetone/dexron mix and finally, just straight acetone without any luck. Each time the mix was left in for several days with the clutch pedal depressed with a stick and the engine was rotated a small amount several times a day. still stuck. I can put it in gear and press the starter button and it wants to go as the battery has lots of power(new) I am at a point where I will try to start the car in gear and try that method to break it loose....is 2nd gear the best gear to try this method? or any other solution I haven't tried? or should I keep trying the acetone? Terry

Terry, I've done it in 3rd gear, key off, with success, as a last resort, just a quick bump or two will tell if this method will work or if you will need to perform surgury. Doug

When the old Jeep truck stuck, I slowly ran it into a tree in 3rd gear. Worked for me!

I tried leaving it in 3rd gear- key off/clutch pedal in- but it wanted to climb over the blocks I had under all 4 tires. I'm looking at going back to putting another concoction of witches brew and leaving it set for a while. I've started looking for the old carb. solution that you put the carb pieces into and they came out looking brand new...must have been pretty good stuff. I'm hoping the tree thing doesn't come to fruition. Terry
