can anyone advise on how to reset the springs for the clutch pressure plate for my 1930 Essex. I read on line for the 1930 Hudson. A force of 145 lbs should depress the springs to 1 5/8 in. When I do this the plate is so stiff it is almost impossible to move. I replaced the original springs with new springs the same length and same gauge. What am I doing wrong?
