Now that is one fine automobile!
Sweet!!
I know just how he feels. I had a 49 C6ClCpe that was solid, but needed resto - which I never did get done. But, one day I got it running, parked a good friend of mine in the passengers seat and we drove it down to the end of the street I lived on and back. It's impossible to put in words the feeling you get when you make that first run.

They're fancy!
Trying to tie up all the loose ends. Recently got the top installed. I developed a leaky water pump and have a new one on the way. Once that's installed, it will be time to do some road testing so we can work out any bugs before the National. Here's a recent teaser photo:

Very impressive. Will you be entering it for the Albright Award. You deserve it.

1952 was a very good year!

Russell, why do you have the single range transmission in your Conv? It should be the dual range. Walt.
Walt, what makes you think I have a single range? I don't, by the way, it's a dual.
The first Hudson I had, a '53 Hornet Sedan, developed a leaky water pump. I took the pump aboard the Coast Guard cutter I was stationed on at the time and turned the sealing surface on the big lathe we had. Had a 4-jaw chuck which worked quite wel, tho I was scared to death that thing was going to come off the chuck the whole time I was turning it. Put in a new seal and no more leaks.

I always try and face those mating surfaces just for that reason. Ironically, that isn't the problem with this pump, as the drain plug will just not seal, even though I've tried to get it to seal a number of times. In the end I got frustrated and just got another one and will tend to this one when I have more time and it can remain a back-up.
