Does anyone happen to have a useable chove stove and heater tube for a 212 engine? AT the end of a rebuild and this is the last item. Most of them are in pretty bad shape. Open to ideas. Thanks.
Just go to any NAPA store and ask for a choke stove repair kit. This connects to carb and has a plate to strap to the exhaust manifold. If you need the tube that is in the exhaust manifold I can tell you how to fix that problem. Walt.
I need the corrugated tube that goes from the heater box on the manifold to the carb. It does not look like a quick fix from a Pep Boys kit. Gary
Hello Gary. Give us a call, I'm pretty sure we have this in bulk. 317-398-4163 . It takes a .250 ferrel and flare nut at the carb end. You will have to carefully drill the rectangular stove that goes on the manifold where it has been crimped in to hold. Make sure that you don't drill the hole too big.
I was lucky (several years ago) and stumbled on a rusted but still-usable original choke stove from an old manifold. But I wonder if you went to a sheet metal place (like an HVAC place) or even a body shop, and handed them one of the old stoves you have, couldn't they form a new one? It's a tiny little thing; how much could it cost?
Jon, it really matters how many ?. One or two, most places won't even talk to you. We are dealing with this issue all the time . When we reproduce or want to make a new part, they want to know "How many ' It is a very valid question. Making just a few small parts, or just a handful is usually no money maker.most don't want to mess with.
