Hi,
Does anyone know what the correct torque is for '53 Hydomatic transmission pan blots?
I will be using a rubber gasket.
Thanks,
Jason
Manual says, "10-13".
Jason, where did you get a rubber gasket; cork does nothing but leak-

Hello,
I got it at my local auto parts store. I'm not sure if it was Advanced Auto or Auto Zone.
They had to order it but only took 2 days, which I was surprised of. So far everything looks correct. I'm going to install it tomorrow.
Then I will know for sure. 🙂
Thanks for the info.
Jason
Part Number and source/brand please?

If you drained the converter, install 5 quarts, start engine and run it for 30 seconds, stop engine then add 4 more quarts. Start engine and move selector through all gears, hand brake on and foot on brake pedal, then let engine idle and check fluid level and you will add 2 more quarts and reach fluid level mark on dip stick. 11 quarts is the factory specs. Walt.
Most all G M cars from 1941 to 1962 used Hydramatics and parts are still available. Walt.
Hello,
I got the trans pan gasket on and it fit nicely.
It is a Fel-Pro TOS 18024
Now I will watch for any leaks. 🙂
Thanks, Jason, & Walt. Now I will purge my cork gasket !!!
Here is what the Advance Auto selection said when clicking on it:
Felpro #TOS 18024
