Has anyone rebuilt the leaf springs on a 37 Terraplane. They are arched well but look like, bad. Want to disassemble clean and reassemble.
What type paint should be used, should it be the graphite type. Going to replace all the bushings, shakes etc. anyone know of a good source? And of course and do's and don'ts. This is my first trip down this path.

Gordon, I did the springs on my '36 several years ago. Took out the center bolt to disassemble the leaves, cleaned up the leaves with a wire wheel, checked for cracks, then treated them with POR-15 and reassembled. Took some time, but fairly easy to do.

Whatever you don, don;t use a phosphoric acid based de-ruster. This sets up surface tension and leads to spring breakage.
