I'm looking for a 12 volt starter for my 1953 super wasp 262 engine standard transmission. Anyone have a part number or any ideas where to find one.

As per Walt's Garage,WTN. Sept/Oct 2006, the number for the 1955(12 volt) starter for a standard drive Wasp is MDF-6011.
I have a '53 Hornet, 12 volt, w/Hydra-matic; and am running a 1955 Hornet {Hydra-matic} starter.

You can have your local automotive electrical (starter/alternator) shop convert yours to 12v, by changing out the field coils. Field coil set for your starter is Ace ST-33-X 12V. (Ace isn't in business now, but shops can cross-reference from this number).
