Anyone have a color code or name for the blue color that Hudson sign backgrounds are painted with?
The red that is painted on the triangle?
Last time I made a sign, I took a good flyer like that one in to the paint store and had them use the computer to read the colors and had them custom-mixed. Turned out great and doesn't cost any extra.

Where did you find that interesting flyer?
Lee O'Dell
Lee, I wish I had it. Someone on eBay has it pictured on an auction, warning potential buyers not to buy "reproduction" hudson dealer signs listed as actual real dealer signs. I just copied and pasted it to show what I am asking about.
Russ, do you still have the paint code?
I used up the paint I had and threw the cans away and never wrote down the code. Figured if I needed them again, I would just do the same thing again.

Roy Marks has an original dealer sign. He is going to take it to a PPG paint rep for me and have them use Tito make up the paint codes in PPG Concept Deltron single stage. That is a very high quality paint that will hold up well to the elements and can be clear coated to enhance UV protection.
I'll post the formula when we get it so others have access to the same.
I have used powder coating on the metal signs I have made ,it is very durable and quite affordable.
Robert, that is an excellent way to do them. You would need someone that can do multiple colors and have oven big enough to bake it in. Do you do one side or both sides? How did you come up with the right colors in powder?
