I should add I really like the 51? to 53 grilles better then the 1949-1950 grilles. I know I own a 1950 but the grille isn't my favorite.

I agree on the grills--I own a 53 sedan & coupe.
But the dash on the earlier 48/49
Commodores is just beautiful.
The woodgrain, brightwork and symmetry is just right IMHO.

That is nice. What you buy an old car for, the unique styling of the period and not some cookie cutter dash.
