In browsing Craigs List I came across a 53 Hornet 4 door complete on Minneapolis CL for $1250. Son selling for deceased father.

This is about to drop off CL and I thought I would call on the 53. I own a rough 1950 Commodore 8 which I will be sending for an expensive restoration. I joined HET. This is my only Hudson and I am considering purchasing another one.
Obviously, the 1950 and 1953 ought to be similar body wise since the 1953 Hornet is also a four door. Is there enough differences to make consideration of another Step Down a good 2nd car to purchase?
I was looking for a 2 door, especially a hardtop - to add to the Commodore 8. However, hardtop projects or non #1 - #2 + cars seem to be too much money for me.
Does the 53 Hornet offer a unique experience over the 1950 8 cylinder car?
