Hey Russell, the trim pieces on the bottom of the doors were painted metal in '52 and '53, not stainless. If you had dies made, could the trim pieces be made in metal y'know not stainless?
The stainless can be sanded/scuffed and painted without issues. Some people have done this. Like any paint job the details is in the prep. Also stainless is much easier to put on/off.
