Does anyone know if parts for the oil bath air cleaners are available, such as large & small gaskets, also the filter material. Can it be successfully replaced ? Ron
Hi Ron,
I moved this into the Hudson forum where more folks will see it. I know you can get the reproduction sticker for 1936 - 1954 from the club store which is a start of course.
I am sure the other parts are available as well and people will chip in with suggestions
Is the filter material there and just dirty, or is it gone?
Any ideas on paper air filters that will fit or work on the twin -H oil bath type canisters. Thanks, Ron
Hi Russ, It's gone! After doing some reading, It seems converting to paper filters is the best thing to do. Any thoughts on that? thanks.
Haven't seen any oil bath filter conversions to paper. Paper filters will fit the other type steel mesh filter.
I would imagine that oil bath air cleaners would use a steel mesh. The steel mesh isn't all that difficult to clean for that matter. A bucket and some gasoline and you're in business.

Ron-
There are paper-type filters that work. Not long ago, I posted that question on this forum or the other one seeking those who already had part #'s in hand. I also emailed several people that I thought had part #'s, but to no avail.
It's a very easy fix, you simply remove the inserts out of your air cleaners and replace with a proper-sized paper filter. I particularly want to use a K&N as they last much longer, clean the air better and aesthetically, look better as they are dark and will look more like stock. I believe they have to be around 8" tall and I can't remember the diameter. You need to see about 3/4"-1" of the side of the filter in order to be able to pull in enough air (and not have the two halves of the filter right on top of each other.
In about two weeks, weather permitting, I'm going up to Dr. Doug's to retrieve the convertible, which has Twin-H with the oil bath cleaners. If no one has posted by then with dimensions, I'll take some measurements and get the correct ones.
Thanks Russ.
