Hi, I have a 1951 Commodore 8 Hollywood. The 51 sales brouchure does not show the Hollywood Hardtop. The 1952 Brouchure shows this model, but of course the tail lights are different. Was the Hollywood released later in the year after the sales brouchures were printed. I have seen photos and adds for the 51 Hornet Hollywood, but nothing about the Commodore Hollywood. Ed Moore
I am sure that's the case, Ed - the Hollywood was available later in the 1951 lineup. The catalogs were, I'm sure, printed to be in the dealers just before the new models came out, say Sept. Check the date on the catalog.

Thanks Alex, I knew you would have the answer. I would have emailed you directly, but I'm in FL hiding from the snow in MA.
I don't have your email address with me. Thanks again, Ed
Actually the 51 Hollywood came out very late in the 1951 production year-I think September of 1951 as 1951 cars. The number of actual 51 Hollywoods of all flavors is smaller I believe than the number of converts for that year. Very low production.
As mentioned above by Lance, the Hollywood did come out in I beleive mid September of 1951. They offered them in Super Series, Commodore 6 & Commodore 8 as well as the Hornet. The 1952 models were not available until very close to the end of 1951 - like mid-December of 1951
According to the 1948-1954 Production stats 1951 production ended in October 1951 with 1952 production commencing in November.
Sara Young's Hudson Jet site gives the following figures for 1951 Hollywoods:
5A - 1100
6A - 819
7A - 669
8A - 2101

Alex
