I have a Commodore 18" steering wheel I need to restore. This involves plating the center hub and 2 side plates. Has anyone pulled one of these apart or have any suggestions/recommendations? I can see it seems to have pins welded to clips which could be ground out but will the pins pull out?

I'm not sure if anyone is interested but it was possible to re-plate the wheel without pulling it apart and without damaging the plastic.
