Linton Richards car. In reassembling the linkage after a valve job (and installing a freshly rebuilt carburetor) the linkage at the side of the block above the coil doesn't seem to fit. I have photos of the engine but to my misery omitted that part of the block. We have nothing in the club library showing photo detail and 1950 appears to be an odd year. The car does not have Drivemaster (curiously, there are plenty of photos showing Drivemaster linkage detail...) John O'H

John - did you check the various parts books in the online library?? There is a 1950 Parts book in there along with a 1948-1954 parts book.

John,

Would it help if I took pictures of the linkage if my 1950 Pacemaker with a 232?

Not to try to ace out John F., but these are some pics of the same set-up in a '50 S-6. Hope they help. I can take more if necessary.

These pictures are how it should be. John F. SWB Pacemaker is different then the LWB. This design was changed starting in '51. '51 the block had a new boss cast into the block that has threads for the linkage pivot. This is also another way to check the difference in a narrow block and a wide block.
