I posted this on "parts wanted" but I will repeat it here. I am looking for the old original type flat banded hose clamps. I have been able to obtain new ones for everything.. except the eight cylinder bypass hose. It is a 1-3/8" clamp. It looks like the splasher 6's use the same hose? Anyone have a source? By the way, I found suitable replacements for all the others from Mac's in Lockport NY. A Ford parts supplier I have delt with for years .

I do have that catalog. but didn't see the 1-3/8", so forgot about it. I'm going to try the 1-1/2" clamps. Might be a bit too large. I'll let y'all know if they work. For some reason, the on-line order thingie wouldn't let me order anything except some weather stripping type products. I sent them an email..

Thanks

The 1-1/2" clamps work..barely. If the wall thickness of a new hose is slightly thinner.. they wouldn't work. Perhaps a turn or two of electrical tape on the pump or water neck might "shim" it up enough. I never did find 1-3/8 clamp.Wonder where Hudson got 'em?

The electrical tape should work. The model A Fords have the same issue. A few turns with the tape and it should work. Slice the tape length wise, and the clamp will hide it if that matters.

I had to add tape to every hose connection for the heater and bypass. The clamps would not completely seal.

Wow! The only car I ever had problems with are the upper rad hose clamps on my 31 Model A. I have noticed on that car, if I order the less expensive clamps from Brattons ( or any Ford supplier)instead of the "show quality" ones , the pan head screw seats before the clamp is sufficently tight. Never on my Hudson or 50 Caddy. Got those clamps at Restoration Supply in Escondido Ca.
