Anyone have a source for a set of 4 Full Wheel Covers for a 1949 Hudson Commodore? Are these parts "unattainable"?
Currently have a set of 4 Hudson poverty dog dish hubcaps on the vehicle. They were on the vehicle when I aquired it from the original owner. In addition to the poverty hubcaps also have the stainless steel trim rings. Was this a stock option on the Commodore ( it's a Commodore 8 )?

Wheel Trim Rings were an option (Option NN) on all 1948-1949 Hudsons. Check page 10 of the 1948-1949 Hudson Group Parts List in the online library @:
http://hetclub.org/burr/lithomepage.htm - filed under 1948-1954 Manuals.
Section E gives the following info:
C 165802 - Trim ring-for 15 x 5.00 wheel 302427 Optional
C 301979 - Trim ring-for 15 x 5.50 wheel 301322 Optional
HA 165952 - Trim ring kit-(5 of 165802) Service
HA 301980 - Trim ring kit-(5 of 301979) Service
Incidentally 302427 and 301322 are for wheel sizes as follows:
302427 - Wheel assembly-15 x 5.00-for 15 x 7.10 tire Standard
391322 - Wheel assembly-15 x 5.50-for 15 x 7.60 tire Standard

Just my opinion; But, I love the dog dish with a trim ring much better than a full hub cap. That is the way I like to go with all my Hudson's.
Thanks for the input. I will keep the Dish hub caps and stainless trim rings. Will continue to look for full Commodore Wheel covers in the chance they are found.

Check with Frank Dhuly, in Western NYS
I can come up with 4 but 3 would probably need some refurbishing / rechroming.

Several of us use the 1953 stainless caps on the rear.
Then one only needs to locate two of the correct hard to find chrome caps.
