I noticed this repro "dealership sign" advertised in the latest Old Cars Weekly (and on the internet). Ha! Far from being an authentic Hudson dealer sign (as the ad implies), this is in actuality the logotype for the H-E-T Club, which "Doc" Daugherty devised in the early 1960's! The word "Service" on the so-called sign, actually reads "Club" in the "real deal". I hope our newer enthusiasts aren't taken in.
(Hmmm.... I wonder: can the Club sue for "unlicensed use" as so many of the car companies do when a hobbyist reproduces an item with the company's trade name on it? Might be an untapped source of income for the H-E-T!)
No clue on the legalities but could find a place in the C&C Garage for that sign.
That sign was once owned by Amelia Earhart - along with the 1932 Essex-Terraplane. :silly:
