[quote="Edward Schmidt" post=7320]Alex,
I just checked my copy of the Sept/Oct 2009 WTN and I can't find the article on the Twin-H setup. Is it possible there is a different reference? Or could you e-mail a copy to me at HETedwardjohnsr@aol.com.
Drop the HET.
Thanks
Ed
Ooooppps - I'll send you a copy anyway.

Just a note that I did the adjustment today and it really is effective--the carbs were way off !!! Would have stayed 'off' without the article. Recommend for all Twins~~
Tks, Walt.
Tks Alex for posting. I was not a member in 2009. Shouldn't more 'older' WTNs {tech, etc} be in an archive file??
Richard, I'd be willing to comb older WTN's for tech articles (I'm opening a worm can here) and form them into tech bulletins or whatever. Tho I've been a member for 45 years I don't have the older WTN's in my collection. I sent them to a WTN editor who didn't last very long and don't know what became of them. Maybe Sam has them in his WTN archives. Some people have put theirs up for sale in the WTN but I don't have the money to purchase same.
Art Adams, when he was WTN editor, did put tech bulletins containing material from different sources in the WTN as a center fold - these are in the online library along with a bunch that I made up using Art's format. These can be found @ http://hetclub.org/burr/lithomepage.htm filed under Other Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Literature.
I've been thinking about scanning Geoff Clarks tech articles - but think it might be a bit to much. One problem with a lot of the material in the WTN is the overprinting of the text. Makes it hard to scan.

I plan on doing this adjustment this weekend, that is if I didn't destroy my transmission tonight. It's making a whining noise during acceleration. Does anyone have a trouble shooting guide for these.
Alex, Why not ask Geoff what he's got in an electronic format & if you could use them?
THE New Zealand HET Club is looking at a project to do with Geoff's tech articles & I'm sure there will plenty of opportunity for co-operation

What transmission do you have in the car?
Manual 3 speed colum shift. Non over drive.
Alex--Man what a generous offer--and a valuable one.
I ask, as a newer member (without a big stash of WTN) "How can we help"...keith
I have read the article mentioned in this thread and in addition to using a "uni syn". the article also talks about connecting a vacuum gauge. I assume the vacuum gauge should be connected to the inlet manifold. Does it matter where ?
Many thanks,
Brian.
Easiest, and I think most people use it, is to unplug the windshield wiper hose from the fitting on the intake manifold and use that connection.
Hudson shop manuals have info on what a reading on the vacuum gauge tells you - there are several shop manuals in the online library. Usually the info you're looking for can be found by typing in vacuum test in the search box. This is in the 1948-1952 shop manual - others should be the same.
Online library is at http://hetclub.org/burr/lithomepage.htm - look under 1948-1954 Manuals.

Thanks Alex, i will give it a try, I just need to go and find a uni sync and a vacuum gauge.
Best Regards,
Brian.
Try Clifford Performance for the uni-syn. They used to carry them - I bought one years ago when I had a Twin-H Hornet.

Should be able to find a vacuum gauge at any auto parts store, but probably expensive - Walmart has them for around $12.
