The metal tube on the bottom of heater box, does it have a rubber tube that goes out the firewall? I have looked at a 52 and a 53 and they do not have anything attached to that metal tube. Maybe it has another use? If it should have a rubber tube, where does it run to? My 52 doesn't have a hole for a tube to run through firewall. Thanks for your expertise! Bill

Bill,

Yes, that's exactly what it's for to drain any water that gets to the bottom of the weathermaster fan unit. Shouldn't be getting much if any water there, but you can fit your own tubing on the unit. I imagine most of them start to fall apart and just got pulled out and not replaced.

So Tim, there should be a hole in my firewall correct? I just don't see a hole around that area for a tube, but I'll keep looking or make one. Thanks

Bill,

The car I could show you is my Pacemaker, but the engine and weather master fan are separated only by the floor board, so you can't see the tube on the engine side of firewall. here's an inside picture showing the drain tube. I'll go out and check my 54 after a bit.

Bill,

Here are the pictures off my 1954 Hornet. Engine side is hard to see has it is right above bell housing in center of engine. But both inside and outside pictures show you that there should be a hold lined up with the bottom tray drain tube.
