It was told that the attached photo shows a Hudson or Terraplane emblem. The triangle certainly suggests it, but I haven't been able to pin it to any year or model. My only Hudson dates from 1925.

It may be a 1936 Terraplane fender skirt ornament. If you look on this auction page http://auctionsamerica.com/events/feature-lots.cfm?SaleCode=AS13&ID=r384&Order=alphabetical&feature=&collection=&grouping=&category=Cars and cycle through the photos, you'll see one on the skirt. When you blow up the photo it looks like the one you have.
Yes, that's it. I see them on 1937s and '38s, too. I was looking in the wrong place, on trunk lids. Those take a different form.

Actually, the ornament is unique to the 1936 Terraplane. The 1937 Terraplanes had an elliptical winged ornament, and the '38s yet another version.
