I need help from you guys. I bought a 1953 hornet Hollywood from a guy in Cheyenne Wyoming. He had it in the Denver Craig's list and my son found it for me. I called him by the number on the add and after a short discussion I agreed to buy it. No if and or butts. I said I would call back to get directions and set a date once I got a trailer and the bank note. Well I lost the number. And I called him on the house phone and have no record of calls made on that one. just incoming. So I just pull up the add again and get it from there and this write it down. Well he deleted the add already and I have no idea how to find him. Craig'

s list will not help. If anyone has an old roster, he lives in Cheyenne WO, has a 1953 Hornet Hollywood and it is painted d g sand tan, not the green orig. The interior is orig. teal. I need to reach him in case he does not have my number either and assumes I bailed on him. It is my dream car and I really want and need this for many reasons. Can anyone help. Thanks Guys. I am at 952-447-1560 home, or 612-801-1474 cell. Dummy in MN
looked like this one only tan outside, teal cloth inside

Robert, I checked the 2008-2010 roster and there's no one in Cheyanne listed with a '53 Hornet. Why don't you contact the person who keeps the rosters for the '53 Hudson, '51-54 Hornet, and '51-54 Hollywood, and ask if it might be on one of their lists?

That happened to me also (but not with a car). I posted a " Will THE GUY WITH THE 308 Call ME" and in the text I explained that I lost his number and he called about a day later. If he posted on CL, he's probably on there more often than not. Terry

I remember that ad. It seems to have disappeared so maybe he sold it. Or post an ad in Wyoming and Denver CL telling him you're trying to contact him. Put the same title as his car in the ad. also, I know where there is a 1953 Wasp Hollywood. much more rare than the Hornet.

Some people post ads and change their mind that they wanted to sell after all, or are just testing the waters.

Why not try this:
Denzil Coleman lives in Cheyenne and may know the fellow you're looking for. email and phone number is in the latest roster.

A lot of times, and this may have very well happened here, guys will let the car go to the first person who shows up with the cash. Craigslist, in particular, brings out all kinds of false offers, broken promises to show up, dumb questions, etc, and the seller can just get slammed. I looked at this car and met the gentleman. A great fellow, finding himself and his wife in need of downsizing to move into a smaller more managable home. Here is his # off the other forum. Good luck.

:cheer:  :woohoo: First I want to thank all the folks at the forum who have come to my aid again and took the time to offer suggestions. I got calls, too many to list, but thanks to all the private calls and the suggestion here and on my personal "E" mail. It seems the phone company would not give out the information someone suggested I should be able to find. So I went to the main office here in savage, and told them it is my information and I want it now, or I am changing to Integra this minute. The lady at the desk was bothered by my rant, but not as much as the fact that I was interrupting her, as she watched Ellen Degenerite on the large screen behind me. So I told her I would come back to close my account after her program was over, and list that as my reason for dumping them. [Poor assistance from the desk lady, who was watching TV instead of taking care of me. As I walked to the door, I had a list of numbers from the 1st of Sept.to today, handed to me by her shaking hand. Low and behold there it was, twice, once on sept 11th and on sept 12. Days we will never forget for the rest of our lives, as we watched tv for 2 days straight as the towers fell and the death toll went up. I will also remember them as the day I found my dream car and refound the phone number days later, that I had lost like a dummy. Thanks, so much for all the help my friends, and yes,!! He did hold the car as was getting worried. He is relieved and so am I, and all I have to do now is find a way to get it home and enjoy it for how ever time I have left on this earth. Somebody was watching over me and smiled over me, once more. For that I am very thankful also. I will post a pic of it as soon as I get her home.
Happy Bobbydamit 😛

I had something similar with an electric stove I bought from Sears. One of the elements quit working. Called for a service rep on Monday, explained the problem, gave them the model number, etc. Guy shows up on Friday - wrong part - since we only come out here on Friday I'll be back next Friday. Ok. In the meantime he wired it so we could use the other 3 burners. Comes next Friday - something was wrong with the part he brought so it's going to be another Friday.
Monday I called the customer service number and got the "we only come out on........etc etc. I quietly asked the lady for the number of the Sears home office so I could advise them of the problem. She gave me the number, tho not willingly, but then told me the repairman would be out Tuesday (the next day) and he would have the correct part to fix the stove. He was and he did.

Glad it worked out for you.

This is a nice old Hollywood and a heck of a deal. If the timing had worked a little differently I would have bought it. I'm in the process of selling a few things to clear up some space and I didn't jump on it fast enough. I knew it wouldn't last...k

Thanks Keith, You have been great. I just saw the number you left for me. So You came through, just as I was finding it, but I could have lost it too. And you could have bought it out from under me. Very Gentlemanly of you. Your a good old sport.

I have been looking for this most of my life. I am so happy I could pee my undies. I will fly out to denver, rent a car and be there soon and meet the carrier there to haul it and pay the man. Am not up to driving it home, as the cancer treatments have some bad side affects. But soon it will be home and we can drive it until it snows. Then I move it into the living room. Please don't tell the wife, OK? Bobby

Why not park it in the living room - the famous (or is that infamaous) Kelly "TK" Hinegardner had a Moto Guzi motorcycle parked in his living room. LOL His wife seemed to go along with it.
Knowing Kelly if he had thought of it he would have had his '38 Convert parked in his living room - one way or another.
That was Kelly.
