I am posting this for Larry Creasy. He is looking for the green plaid fabric for his car. Any suggestions where to fine something similar? Thank you in advance.
Can someone tell me what they used for 1954. Was it the same style fabric as 53? Any pictures of a correct original 54 or restored example would be appreciated. Door panels also.
I'm not in the Library right now. I'd have to pull out the book and see if it has fabric samples. I know the '52 one does. '53 and '4 interiors look very similar to me. But I think they had a different pattern in the material for '54? I've seen very few '54s in my life. But I hear this year's National in French Lick was "the largest gathering of '54s" John O'Halloran had ever seen.
The upholstery for the '54's was nothing at all like that used in the '53's. The exception to this was that Hudson tried to use up the "waffle" pattern fabric from 1953 in the lowly '54 Wasp. The 7D Hornets of '54 used an extremely tasteful bedford cord insert along with broadcloth bolsters.
Hey buddy, I'm in the Club Library right now, I went through the '54 files and found the sample cuttings of the 1954 upholsteries. I'm going to create a new topic for them as well since this one is about upholstery fabric for a 1953 Hornet.

Richard, Does SMS sell the 53 Hornet box check pattern for the blue interior? Hornets either had "Durafab" in Green or Blue. But, 4 out of 5 cars were sold with green. I have not seen blue dye in years.
Ron, I do not know. They do have a phone number. The interior was already in car when I got it. Have ordered carpet from them 2 months ago to cover the trunk well that would no longer hold the larger radial tires; matched what was there {but the whole trunk is carpeted. Generally, they send samples prior to taking an order.
