I was building a 32 Foolsum cabriolet pickup with 5.0 Mustang 5 spd and 8.8 rear end. Dropped that project to do the Hudson. Maybe later?????
When looking at Hudson site I was intrigued by the '27 Essex speedster. That could be another project as I believe there are lots of late 20's Essex motors and frames, most of the wood bodies have disintegrated!!
Foolsum ...... you might fool some people that it is a '32 Ford but......

Pics of trial fit of new tires to see how rims and clamps look. Am having clamps made so will see how they work

owner of this one had purchased it shortly before the '09 National
not sure where he's from but appeared to be very authentic
maybe we can tell which state from this rear view
always loved the gas tanks, LOL - new owner from Minn. pd. a LOT for this authentic Mile-a-Minute rd.
and the instrumentation looks to be correct
hope photos I've attached will be of some assistance - just read prior pps. & if you'd like a close up of any I've inc. I'd be willing to alter them in Picasa for close-ups?
There again, all that brass and no brass radiator? Do not understand that?
just looked thru Butler & no early Hudsons had brass radiators & in '13 went to nickel for same reason, too expensive (?).
I had a '13 Model '37 torpedo which I found a most interesting car; unfortunately most of the self-starter mechanism gone so had to be hand cranked to start. It was a "hoot" to drive with big gear changes, RHD, etc., only rear brakes so had to be VERY careful in urban traffic!
[quote="Fred Grey" post=6690]am interested in contacting anyone with Model 33. Very short production numbers and time so most parts I have to make from pics as reference for my "33'
Fred, no "production" numbers exist, to the best of my knowledge - and I've been looking for over 40 years. What we have are shipment figures and in 1912 we have 5,708 models shipped but no breakout of body styles.
However, we have serial number runs - The speed roadster, which is what you have, shows 23001 to 24000. This does not mean that 999 were produced, tho - but does show that production was a small run for this particular model. These were serial number blocks issued to the various body styles; for example the roadsters (these appear to have had doors where the speed roadster doesn't) serial number blocks were assigned 24001 to 26000, limousines 26001 to 26500.
I believe you are correct in there is an estimate of less than 200 speed roadster produced as the Model 33 production seems to have been about 1 1/2 years before the Model 37 came out.
My motor number is KK12295 but not sure where it would fit in for the short production time.
Will continue this winter in hopes of getting it on the road
