Steve, I ordered a 1954 Hudson coupe harness from Yn'Z and first they told me that they did not have one for the 54's. I told them that they were the same as the 53's. They said that they did not have the back part of the harness from the dash to the tail lights. Again, I said send me the back section of a 53 convertible. I got the parts and paid extra money. Each time I called them they told me they could not help me with advice because I bought something that was not for my car. They told me I was on my own. The did not sent end of wire clips for any of the back section and I needed five of them. They would only sell me 25 at a time and then charged me $25 bucks for shipping. Every wire was near to two inches too long and I had to trim and refasten the endings (bought 100 of them locally for five bucks. Now, I am sure that none of you have had this experience with them. But, I have to say that I would not buy a diet coke form them today!!! But, as they have told me several times on the phone... You did not buy the right harness for your car--we cannot do anything for you. Russ Maas told me that he installed his 54 harness in one day. I just finished mine and I have over 100 hours in the installation. I am a happy camper--just, not happy with Yn'Z. Good luck with your project.

I installed a factory harness for my '54 from Rhode Island Wiring with no problems. It was complete for the whole car. No problems with it.

With the kind of money they charge, you would think they would be more helpful!

Well, unfortunately, some have had a different experience. They were able to quickly do the special harness for my 42 Desoto Simplimatic Drive.

Brownie, Did you sent them the original wiring harness from your 54 coupe? They could then replicate it and be able to sell the correct ones for otheres. Everytime I called, they were very helpful and had some great ideas. It's too bd the experience you've had.

At any rate, the most important thing is to do the wiring safely and properly. A burned up car can result, not to mention worse. I know others have been very happy with Rhode Island Wiring and I think there's another one back east as well. The shipping costs are killing us on ALL parts, not just stuff from ynz's.
