Hey, I've got a couple burned out bulbs, one of the reading lights in back and the map light up front, and I guess I just have to pull the fixture out. But is that right? Is there a professional way to do that without wrecking the headliner?
the chrome surround and the glass just pulls off, ft and back. might have to use a screwdriver to pry off.
you should pull off the ft interior piece-screws - and check the wiring at the receptacle. and sliding switch operation.
disconnect battery before you do all this.
also glue some aluminum foil in it to get better reflection--shiny side out.
Okay! I'll have to try that! Thanks for the help!

How do I get that interior piece off without wrecking the headliner? I see there are maybe four screws in there holding it on, but they're kind of hard to get at... Is there a "trick" or a special way to do this?
You must be referring to the light over the dash. Just get a small screwdriver and 'rake' the headliner back some and unscrew the screws. Unless the headliner is rotten it will be OK. Work the fixture out by turning it sideways and the end toward the driver first since the wire connection is at the other end as I remember. You will use a slight dab of contact cement when putting headliner back.
Okay, I'll have to try that. Thanks again!
