What is the recommended crush washer for the oil pan drain plug for a 308 engine?
Isn't it a pipe thread plug? No washer used.
A bit of teflon tape on those threads makes 1 less spot on the garage floor.
That's what I do with mine.
Teflon is fine for normal plumbing involving water, but not for petro-chemicals. It will eventually go soft.
The Yellow, thick variety is intended for LPG, oils, Gasoline. etc.. I had some that was made in Aussieland that specifically stated those applications on the label on the spool. I can't assure anyone that all yellow Teflon tape is so rated. You'll need to check for yourself, but it does exist.

Teflon tape is fine with oils. It is heat that can cause problems with softening the polymer, or caustic will destroy it.
