This sit looks better all the time. A lot of familiar faces showing up. Thanks to all involved in getting this sit going. Much appreciated.
Gene.

Aaron and the gang built a better mouse trap. You look at the stats and considering this is a fairly new effort they are awesome.

Biggest thing is that this is so easy to use - check out the gallery and start your own album. It's so easy.

So Welcome to one and all.

New to the Club and site. My father and I have begun to get my 51 Pacemaker up and going. We'll be looking for tips. Looks like there is lots of info here already. Great!

Welcome to the site Jeff. Make sure that you keep us posted on your progress. Make sure you take a look at who is in the Sacramento area (Use Find Current Club Member and use Sacramento or California to see members in your area). Also use the Registry reports on the main page and search on 1951 Hudson. Then use the Print button for a text copy of the report. It takes a little while to load. That will give you names of other members with 51s. Again welcome!

Aaron

Hello all,

Please allow me to introduce myself and my wife.

My wife Alina and I are proud owners of a new addition to our many un-restored car projects.

We found a '55 Hudson Wasp Hollywood in Paris, KY (and I think, might have paid too much for it, for under $500). There is almost no frame left on this car. It is a 2-dr hardtop, and the body is so bad, I cannot determine what the two original colors were. Most of the glass is still there and it can be seen that at least one of the side windows is cracked; much has blemishes in them. It does have an L6 engine with an automatic transmission and it originally came with power windows and air conditioning. This must have been a rather nice car at one time.

There is almost no interior left and it's amazing the seats, or what's left of them, are still in the car what with very little floorboards remaining.

I don't know what I was thinking when I bought the car.

I think it might have some usable parts and I think I may just donated the remains to anyone in the club. I would really like to find an early 50s Wasp or some such larger car.

So, anyway, here we are joining the HET Club and reading the forum posts thinking about what to do next. We live in Mid-coast Maine.

Sincerely,

Alina and Ralph M Bohm

Thanks, Gene,

This is what we have found so far on this terribly-rusted car:
1955 Hudson Wasp Hollywood
Serial Number: W/1993
Body Number: 1249
Model: 35547
Paint: 67-62

Here is an album I've created for this car:

Welcome to the best car club there is - of course I'm prejudiced.
My Grand father had a '55 Hornet and it was surely a great car! After he died it sat for 25 years in a barn and was almost destroyed between animals and kids, but was totally restored to a beautiful car better than original back in the late 90's and then sold - I'm still trying to find it!
Looking at your Photo Album (Great Photos!)it appears there isn't much there, but I'm sure there must be some parts to salvage if nothing else.
If the windshield and the rear glass is good, you can probably retrieve your investment just from those alone!

If you are looking for an early 50's WASP or ? watch the new WTN coming out this next month there should be some possibilities in it. The right Hudson is out there for you - just keep looking. Mine just fell in to my lap by chance(LONG STORY).
We have a '50 Super Six Club Coupe and totally torn it down and built it back up over 5 1/2 years, but since 2006 we have driven her in 46 states, and have had a GREAT time. I hope the best for you and hope that you enjoy the HET Club. Be sure to join the local chapter if you haven't already) - you'll find some of the greatest people on the roads in the HET Club and chapters. If you are ever in this part of the States (Arizona) we'd love for you to come join in on one of the Grand Canyon Chapter meets and met our members!

Again WELCOME to the HET Club and I hope to meet you in French Link next summer!

Welcome to the crazy world of Hudson!!! HET is "NOT" a car club, per se. It is a family club that just happens to love the great cars built by the Hudson Motor Car Company. On this forum, and the ClassicCar forum, you can always find people who can help with your problem and, indeed, are more than willing to drop what they are doing to help. I've been a member for over 40 years and in that time have been a member of several other car clubs. I'm still with the Hudson family despite not having a Hudson of my own - so that should tell you something.
So welcome aboard and be ready for one hell of a ride!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Before I moved to Memphis I lived in southern Maine, in Kennebunk.

Hudsonly,
Alex Burr

Very well said Alex. The Hudson's bring us together, but it's the "People" that keep us together"
I recently had a heart attack and the amount of calls, e-mails and face book contacts with concerns and encouraging words of support for getting better was amazing. Those came from all over the US HET, but even from several of our international HETer's. What great "friends we have in the HET Club - It's truly a family as well as a club.

Hello Alex,

Thank you for the kind message. I am delighted to be a part of this group. I also belong to a number of other groups. My wife and I have ~12 project cars of different and unique makes (ie a '50 Desoto Carryall, '51 Frazer, 65 Rambler Marlin and even an old '27 Peerless among them) so it was great to come across the '55 Wasp and it gave me the impetus to join the club. Already, several folks have welcomed us and we are looking forward to meeting many members in person at future meets.

Now for this old '55 Hudson Wasp Hollywood: I think I would be accurate in saying that it is a bit too far gone for a restoration project but rather, I should go ahead and take the time to salvage what I can from it and offer the parts to those members who may be in need of them. So, I think I will do just that. I will just ask for what they may feel is a fair price for a given item that is salvaged. of course add to that the shipping. My wife and I would offer the handling for free. Those monies collected would offset the money paid for the car and would go to a future Hudson, preferably a step-down type from the early 50s. So, I could make another post in the correct topic folder here in the forum.

Does this sound like a good idea?

Ralph

Thomas,

I can see already that there is a more mature and neighborly group here. it refreshing to see it at my age as well. I am sorry to hear of the health issues. Hope it gets straightened out and you can get fully back up on your feet. We need to meet up at a future show and compare notes. 🙂

Ralph
